FC Citylife A 2 – 1 Dandy Casuals

FC Citylife B 2-0 Western United

Coming off the back of a solid 1-0 win away at BNFC, Citylife B’s came in with a high expectation to win it against Western United. The first season win came in a 5-0 routing of Western United but a clear, level-headed approach is needed to claim the 3 points once again. In a team dominated by more defensive players, Citylife would need to reinvent itself once again and win the game from the backline.

The first half was a cagey affair in which both sides were jostling for possession of the game. A few close shots and headers against the solid goalkeeper Chris Lim pushing Citylife on the back foot, one hitting the post and the other right into the hands of Chris. A stroke of brilliant passing towards the end of the half from Shady and Wilson cleared the marauding Sam through the opponent back line and calmly slotted the ball into the net. 1-0 Citylife! And that was on the stroke of half time.

Citylife gave a stronger performance in the second half controlling the game and spread the ball wide into the danger areas. A few shots against Western’s goalkeeper were block but the chance came falling into the path of Ash who rifled one into the bottom left corner; “no chance keeper!” 2-0 Citylife. From the 2-0 lead Citylife game, it was a matter of staying solid as a unit and finishing the game off in a calm manner. Props to Western United for pushing Citylife most of the game and putting on a good game.
